Lib Dem Minister visits to discuss cross border transport issues

Baroness Susan Kramer (Minister of State for Transport) visited Llanymynech last Saturday to discuss the cross border problems in delivering the Llanymynech / Pant bypass. This comes after a petition was handed into the National Assembly for Wales Petitions Committee Chaired by William Powell AM, by the Llanymynech and Pant bypass action group last month

Jane Dodds Parliamentary Candidate for Montgomeryshire said "I was delighted to be able to show Baroness Kramer the problem first hand. The heavy traffic blights people’s lives both side of the Border and makes travelling very difficult. Llanymynech and Pant are dominated by the road. It is time that the A483 was upgraded."

Baroness Kramer said "This is an important road for the area for trade, tourism , access to hospitals and for the people living here. I know the Welsh Liberal Democrats in the National Assembly  have negotiated a review of their side of the border as part of the Budget agreement. This is a significant achievement and must now act as a trigger to find a solution to this long awaited bypass."
