ÖPIK APPLAUDS MOONWALKERS' COSMIC CONTRIBUTION TO BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Commenting ahead of their cheque presentation this weekend, Lembit Öpik, MP for Montgomeryshire, today congratulated the organisers of the Llanrhaeadr Moonwalk for the amount of money they raised for Breast Cancer.

The team is presenting their cheque to Breast Cancer Care Cymru on Saturday as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Commenting on the amount of money the team raised, Lembit said:

"I'm hugely impressed that the Moonwalkers have raised over £26,000 to help increase awareness of breast cancer. That's a fantastic achievement - especially because wandering about in the middle of the night is quite cold and a bit scary! I congratulate everyone involved. It shows how a strong and positive community like Llandrhaeadr can make a huge difference. With these people, the sky's the limit."
