Powys living a 'three planet' lifestyle - Öpik

Lembit Öpik, MP for Montgomeryshire, has been challenged by WWF to juggle three planets to highlight how everyone in the UK is using more than their fair share of natural resources.

At a parliamentary meeting, the WWF said that Government has an important role to play in helping people live within the planet's natural capacity. Lembit said:

"If everyone in the world lived as we do in the UK as a whole, we would need three planets to support us. In Powys we are living a 3 planet lifestyle.

"There is so much we can do in our everyday lives to reduce our impact on the environment. I for one have had an environmental audit done on my house and have implemented the recommendations.

"We must all play our part in looking after our environment"
