CHARLES KENNEDY VISIT TO NEWTOWN

11.19.49am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 22nd Mar 2007

Former Liberal Democrat Leader, Rt Hon Charles Kennedy, is visiting Newtown on Friday, to show his support for Welsh Liberal Democrat candidates in the up-coming Assembly election.

The MP will be visiting Montgomeryshire with Mick Bates AM, Montgomeryshire's Assembly Member, in advance of the party's official campaign launch next week.

Charles Kennedy said: "I am delighted to be able to take this opportunity to come here, and to see all the hard work that our candidates are doing across Wales. Welsh Liberal Democrats deliver in devolution, and I have no doubt that we will see more of them returned as AM's on May 3rd."
