Mervyn Kinsey

TRIBUTES PAID TO COUNCILLOR

Mick Bates AM has led the tributes to Welshpool Councillor Mervyn Kinsey, who died on Friday. Commenting, Mick Bates AM said:

"Mervyn was an irreplaceable asset to the council and the Liberal Democrats. His great dedication to the community was felt by all who knew him and the hundreds of people he helped and represented over the years."

Local MP Lembit Öpik added:

"Mervyn took the professionalism of the Party as a whole very seriously, and in this sense he made a measurable contribution to our work in the county. The biggest shock is the speed of Mervyn's death. Eight months ago he was one of our most active members. To think of him as having gone will take a lot of adjustment to his political colleagues, and even more so for his family.

"We've all got warm memories and stories to tell of Mervyn Kinsey, but his true epitaph is the contribution he's made to civic life, and this legacy will live on as a tribute to the politician and the man."
