A&E must stay in Shrewsbury

key_janeaandeshrewsbury.pngJane Dodds, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Montgomeryshire has called into question senior Conservative MP, Owen Pattersons backing  for a single Accident and Emergency unit for Shropshire comes as a real worry for the people of Montgomeryshire.

Jane at a New Year meeting of Montgomeryshire people said;

"Thousands of Montgomeryshire people depend on health services in Shropshire, and our concerns need to be taken on board. My recent Health survey of Montgomeryshire residents shows that people here depend on the A&E department in  Shrewsbury  and many have to travel up to 40 miles to get there already."

Ambulances have failed to meet their target response times throughout 2014, so an even longer journey would be terrible news. Keeping A&E in Shewsbury must be coupled with an Urgent Care Centre in Montgomeryshire both to ease the pressure on A&E and to ensure that journey times are kept down."

I hope that regardless of Owen Patterson MP's views, politicians of all parties will back the campaign to keep an A&E unit at Shrewsbury hospital.

Jane will continue to campaign for the people of Montgomeryshire for the best possible outcome for the health and safety of its people.
