A bonus payment will be paid to everyone working in the NHS and social care in Wales after the Welsh Government enacted the Welsh Liberal Democrat Policy.
The Welsh government said it would pay nearly 222,000 people the equivalent of £735 each, with an element to cover tax and national insurance deductions.
It means most people would get £500 in their pay, said government officials.
Alison Alexander, Montgomeryshire Liberal Democrat Senedd candidate said:
“I’m extremely happy that the government has decided to implement this policy that the Welsh Liberal Democrats have been calling for from inside the government since last May. Our NHS staff have gone above and beyond expectations during this pandemic to help keep us all safe, suffering numerous traumas in the process. This bonus of course cannot express our full gratitude, but it’s a start”
