We are calling on Powys County Council to review its schools transformation programme immediately. In line with Welsh law, Closure should be a last resort. Other alternatives, such as clustering, federating and resource-sharing, should be preferred.
Powys must pause the programme altogether during the pandemic. Children, families, school staff, and communities have suffered enough disruption due to Covid-19, without having to endure the uncertainty of possible school closures.
[Schools facing possible closure include: Churchstoke County Primary School; Castle Caereinion Church in Wales School; Llanfechain & Llangedwyn Church in Wales School, respectively; Ysgol Pennant, Penybontfawr; Ysgol Bro Cynllaith, Llansilin; Llandysilio Church in Wales School; Carreghofa County Primary School, Llanymynech; Arddleen County Primary School; Ysgol Brynhafren, Crewgreen.]
Sign our petition below which we will present to the Conservative-Independent run Powys County Council for consideration.
