Mid Wales Train Cuts Show that Labour Don't Prioritise Mid Wales

esponding to the news that Transport for Wales have delayed plans for an hourly train service on the Cambrian Line until 2026, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Montgomeryshire & Glyndwr Cllr Glyn Preston said:

"The Liberal Democrats have been campaigning for an hourly service on the Cambrian Line for well over a decade and time after time all we have seen is dither and delay from Transport for Wales and the Labour Government in Cardiff Bay.

"The fact that the plans are set to be delayed yet again is a disgrace which hurts commuters and takes away from Mid Wales ability to attract both tourists; and skilled workers such as GPs who regularly site poor transport links as a reason they won't move to the area.

"The Cambrian Line is also set to be the last to receive new trains, while lines in South and North Wales have already received new stock. With Transport for Wales fully nationalised the blame for this lies squarely at Labour's feet who continue to prove they don't care about Mid Wales."

Responding to the reduction of services on the Heart of Wales Line, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Brecon, Radnor & Cwm Tawe David Chadwick added:

"This is extremely disappointing for people right across the constituency and will have an impact on both commuters and potential tourists.

"Labour have continuously called on people to get out of their cars, but yet here they are allowing public transport services to be cut. It is yet again abundantly clear they do not prioritise rural communities."
